COVID19 Update

Important Info for Parents

We want to thank you for your kindness during this difficult time. We are all working together to make this the best summer for your child and we are looking forward to working with you.

The University will continue to monitor and follow the recommendations of the Saskatchewan Health Authority, the Government of Saskatchewan, and Government of Canada. Due to the ongoing pandemic, it is important to note that all summer and day camp programming is subject to change and/or cancellation with minimal notice.

  • Staff will check your child in/out and will fill in the initials of the person signing them out (please have only one person walk your child to the drop off/pick up location)

Self-Monitoring

  • As per Saskatchewan Health Guidelines, all parents, guardians, and camp staff must self-monitor daily for COVID-19 symptoms. If anyone in your home has symptoms, the entire household should remain home until the test results are known, and you should not bring a child to camp. Please report any expected absences to the camp coordinator via link on their respective website or via email as directed by the respective program.
  • If your child is exhibiting symptoms of Covid-19 (e.g., chills, conjunctivitis (pink eye), cough, diarrhea, fatigue, fever >38 C, muscle or body aches, sore throat, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, runny nose) please keep them home and notify camp of the absence (via link on the website or by email)
  • If your child tests positive for Covid-19 please notify the respective camp of your child’s absence (via link on the website or by email) so we can ensure the safety of our campers and staff. If necessary, Health Safety and Wellness will assist SHA with contact tracing
  • If any camp participant shows or reports symptoms of COVID-19 during their time at camp, they will be moved out of contact with other participants, and taken to a designated isolation area until they can be released to a parent.

Mask Information

All parents, guardians, campers and camp staff must wear masks on campus. Campers will need a minimum of 2 masks each day as they will be changed every 4 hours, or if they become soiled.

All face masks, whether disposable or reusable:

  • Should be made with at least three layers of tightly woven, breathable material;
  • Fully cover the nose and mouth and secure under the chin;
  • Fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face; and
  • Be secured with ties or ear loops
  • Face coverings such as bandanas and gaiters do not meet these requirements.

Masks fit people differently depending on their face shape; choose a mask that fits snugly and does not require adjustment/touching.

Concerns

If you have concerns about safety measures not being followed on campus, have general safety concerns, or want to report COVID-19 incidents, please complete an incident report and email it to health.safety@uregina.ca.
