Episode 51 – Infection Protection

#CouchPotatoLab

First, you will need to download the Infection Protection lab manual.

Germs, oh my! Or correctly called bacteria and viruses. There are many types of bacteria and viruses, but the ones that make us sick are known as pathogens. These foreign invaders, things we do not want to enter our bodies, set up camp and can cause serious harm! Luckily, we have our own defences against these pesky little microbes known as the immune system.

How does our immune system work? How do we differentiate from a pathogen or a harmless microbe? This activity will answer exactly that! You may be quite surprised at all the mechanisms our body has to fight off infection.
